You don’t need to find a new way.
You don’t need to learn a new skill.
You don’t need to meet new people.
You just need to be ok with wherever it is you are now.
The rest will come.
Or not.
You don’t need to find a new way.
You don’t need to learn a new skill.
You don’t need to meet new people.
You just need to be ok with wherever it is you are now.
The rest will come.
Or not.
People change not because of a resolution, not because of a revelation, not because of a reprimand.
They change because change is continuous and ever present.
When we think of us changing, it is usually just us looking back and accepting what has brought us here.
That’s change.
It’s not you..
There probably is no sentence that bears the power of immediately making things a lot more personal.
And of course, it’s probably true.
It’s most likely not about you.
The quality of your input – a measure of time, focus, commitment, passion, and knowledge – is rarely in a direct relationship with the quantity of the outcome.
That is to say, just because you are doing a good job, it does not mean you will be successful.
But the quality of your input is without failure in a direct relationship with the quantity of satisfaction, achievement, and fulfilment you get every single day.
And that is much more important than any outcome.
Actually, that is THE outcome.
Things are easy.
Particularly when we are not involved.
As a customer, it is easy to find ways to improve the service and food at the restaurant you have visited for dinner.
As a peer, it is easy to see the possibilities and potential of a project that your colleague is struggling to pull off.
As a parent, it is easy to imagine how much more wonderful your kids’ life would be if only they could focus on the things they already have.
And of course, when we are involved, things get immediately incredibly complicated.
The ability to walk in others’ shoes is something that can be trained.
